Committing to busy weekends...

Over the Christmas break we loosely committed to making an attempt to complete as many ‘almost finished’ projects around the house as possible, over the next couple of months, while still having a life. Here’s how this weekend panned out…

In preparation for repairs to damage caused by the carport demolition/rebuild, the spare bedroom has had a major tidy up. All the stuff that mysteriously finds its way into spare rooms wherever they are, has been sorted into ‘throw away’, ‘donate’ and ‘move to the loft’ boxes, or just simply put away. We usually keep the ‘donate’ boxes in situ for a week or so, you know, just in case some of the contents need reclassifying, but this time, the boxes have gone straight to the car in anticipation of a ‘drop off’ next weekend.

Outside, the tidying up continued. The asbestos sheets we removed when the carport was redone, have finally made it to the tip. Because of the carcinogenic nature of asbestos, we decided to hire a ute rather than transport it in the car, so took the opportunity to get rid of a few other bit and pieces as well. As you see, the result of all this industry and commitment is a driveway that looks almost respectable!

Oh, and we also managed to fit in a bit of shopping, a brunch date, and a visit to the Art Gallery. Not sure how long it will last, but this weekend we were committed.
